Re: Technik Museum Sinsheim,Germany

Great place to go!!! I was there in 1992 and it looks like they have improved it a great deal!!!

Yes, you are right.
Especially the tanks outside looked great! A few years ago they were realy weathered and not a nice collection to visit.
Now they look awesome again.Note the snow-whiteSU-100

Also the different T34 have a new finish now

Great photos, big thank you for sharing with us forumites.

The He111 looks a Spanish licence built plane.
The JU87 wreck looks really cool, did that come from the bottom of a lake somewhere?

Have you any more piccies please?

How can you tell? Is there a difference? In the engine, perhaps?

Different engines between the German and the Spanish made 111s. The He 111s were powered by Junker Jumo engines and the Casa 2.111s are powered by Rolls-Royce Merlins. Bit of difference in the cowlings between the two.

Here is a Junkers Jumo powered version to compare with one in the pictures.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Thanks. I do know, however, that an early He 111, built in Germany, was powered by Merlins also.

Re: Technik Museum Sinsheim,Germany

Dear all,
since today is a public holiday here in Germany I used the great weather for a trip to Sinsheim, the sister museum of Technik Museum Speyer.
Here are some pics for you

Wow, nice pictures derhamburger! Is that last plane in your first set of photos a Vampire? Looks like a great place to visit.

Hello Jim, the Ju87 was found in the mediterranean near St.Tropez in a depth of 70 meter. The Tailplane was found appr.300 meters awy but in a depth of 100meter, so no diver could get down there.
The canopy was opend, so it is assumed that the pilot and rear gunner got out of the plane.

Yes, I do have some more pictures but just military stuff no more planes.
I hope that is ok for you.
I will post them later after work
