Re: Technik Museum Speyer, Germany

I live in Nijmegen (Netherlands) on the river Waal and a couple of weeks ago a barge hauling the Russian space shuttle (Buran) docked here for a short time on it's way to this museum. Quite impressive sight, and funny to see a post (great pictures!) on this museum. Germany is only next door and summer is near. Maybe I will pop over the border sometime.

Can we try with real bullets now?

Hey Kubikali, if you find some free time for your trip I recommend the > Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung < in Koblenz, the Technik Museum in Speyer and the larger Technik Museum in Sinsheim
Here some points from their press release :
How will the Russian Space Shuttle BURAN be Presented to the Public at the Technik Museum Speyer ?fficeffice" />>>
>>
The Technik Museum Speyer is currently building a new museum hall with a height of 22 meters and an exhibition area of 9000 m². Work to finalized the wall panelling and roof is currently running at high speed. As soon as the floor of the hall has been completed the space shuttle will be placed into the new hall to have its wings, landing gear, instruments and rudder re-attached in order to make everything fit for exhibition. Preparations to plan and build the exhibition “Apollo and Beyond” of the Space Expo e.V. are running parallel to these efforts.>>
>>
The Museum is planning to have everything ready by mid-summer. Many members and friends of the Museum are already eagerly looking forward to seeing the space shuttle up close.>>

Cool Re: Technik Museum Speyer, Germany

Red Arrows flying the Alpha Jet? Some cool pics there. Is that a Mirage III prototype above the 109? Neat 109 with swastikas? In Germany!? Like the Allouette II and Draken too.

Re: Technik Museum Speyer, Germany

Very interesting......Museum in Germany......Bf 109......WITH SWASTIKA ON THE TAIL! So, I assume this means they are allowed on museum pieces, but not on models???? Makes no sense whatsoever. Perhaps model makers should start selling model MUSEUM PIECES in Germany!

Re: Technik Museum Speyer, Germany

Nice looking Bf 109G, but the prop sure does look like it is feathered.
