Re: Johnson Space Center Houston (NASA)

Outstanding pictures Kaptin Kirk.....That looks like a lot of fun to see that place...
How long does it take to see the whole museum ?
JP

Although I was their from 10 to 6 I did not see everything. You probably need a day and a half to see it all. Most people come out during Spring and Summer to avoid the crowd come out during the Fall you'll enjoy it much more. Their are three tours.

Red Tour: Astronaut Training Facility & Saturn V Facility

Blue Tour: Mission Control & Saturn V Facility ( On certain days the current Mission Control along with the International Space Station Mission Control are available but not during current missions.)

White Tour: Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (giant pool)

All three could be an hour wait each depending on the crowd. NASA is huge their are over 100 buildings and each tour takes you around the complex.

Keep'em flying.

Here is another picture.

The raised American Flag represents an American(s) in space. When no American(s) is/are in space the flag comes off.

Keep'em flying.

Re: Johnson Space Center Houston (NASA)

That's correct Mustangdriver, for many years Saturn V had been exposed to the sun, rain, and hail causing corrosion. For about 2 years Saturn V was off limits due to restoration.

I was wondering why it was inside now. I liked it outside, but we gotta take care of her. Did they build the hangar around it or move it to a different location?

Sam,

Saturn V has been at that very location for many years. Now that a hangar was build around it will last for many more.

Keep'em flying.
