Thumbs up Re: CWHM Sabre

The Sabre is a sweet airplane.

The guys up at CARP, (Ottawa) have bought a flying version that they will fly this year as a Golden Hawk. The Harvard Association just bought 6 T-birds that they will fly in various Canadian colours including a Red Knight. Airshows might be worth going to again.

Ohhhh -- this is too good to be true!! I just can't wait to tell my Brother. You are absolutely right -- airshows might start to become exciting again! Is that Harvard Assoc. up at Mt. Hope?

They are based at Tillsonburg but they are negotiating with a few airports now to be the home for the T-birds.

That's super to know -- I'll keep my eyes peeled and look up their web site. I trust they have one or is the outfit too new?

No problem, you can also join the group and fly with them or learn to fly with them as well.

That is most certainly something I will look into in the coming months. Are you involved with them at any level?

Was a member of the CWH from '81 till about '93. It got rather political about that time.
Have thought recently about joining the Harvard group but have not got of my fat ass to do it yet.

Well, it certainly would be a god excuse to get close to those T-birds, alright! Geez -- when I think of all those years I was in Hamilton, and I could also have gotten in with that bunch, but, politics -- yeah -- I know what you mean. I looked into the group doing the restoration of the Arrow nose here, but they didn't need anyone at the time. Of course, there is the Lanc here undergoing restoration . . .

Was a good group back in the formative years. Got to fly in a lot of warbirds and attend lots of different airshows with them,.... As well as work on lots of neat aircraft. Politics and despotic leadership can ruin many a good thing.
