Re: Aviation Wrecks and Relics

HEY dude I can remember when they first started to try to get funds to get that back in the air, good to see it flying again. I have read about the bombing raid they undertook in the war back in the 80's and they flew a very far distance!

Hey, I had a signature here where did it go?????

Did some more snooping on the site and impressed with the some of the museums on there. All I can say is the folks in the UK have some fantastic aviation museums.

Love to get over there and see some of them, it would also be neet to see some of the old spit bases that were used as well!

Find the site for East Fortune Air Museum in Scotland. Great stuff there also.

Cruv' - we REALLY are spoiled for choice -

when I was with IPMS-Hornchurch, we used to attend all the shows at Airbases & Museums....

Shows were held at Yeovilton, Cosford, Hendon, Mildenhall - so we were buying/selling & admiring made-up kits underneath real a/c.

I saw a post on here (about a week ago) of a similar-event in Canada, with kits/trade-stalls underneath a CF.101.Voodoo.

When we were at Cosford, EVERYONE was drooling over the Me.410
(but STILL no-answer as to why the prop-tips are 'sawn-off' ???????)

ALWAYS picked up Bargains at those shows....

It's where some of my rarer-kits came from - & about 2/3rds of my extensive 1/48th Decal-Collection.

MORE Die-cast modellers need to be made aware of these IPMS shows - as BOTH crowds have similar/same interests........

Aftermarket decals are ALWAYS handy for the average Die-cast collector !!!!!!!!

BTW - Dave; you wanna visit the UK's Spitfire-bases, I'll be your tour-guide - as I was born/bred/lived around most of the important ones, incuding my namesake !!!!!!!!!!!!

I know some of the 'nooks' & 'crannies' that the average enthusiast might miss !!!!!!!!
