Where's that one from tank nut? I know they're doing one up down in Toronto (FM 104), is this the one?

Yes this is the one, When I last seen it, it was outdoors and the weather was beating it up bad birds where using it for a nest!! They are puting it back together but not sure if it will fly again or not. Would be neat to see if flying again after all it went though.

Thumbs up Re: Pics of a lancaster beign brought back to life

I've been led to believe it won't fly, but be hangar-static like PO•S in RAF Hendon. (I wonder how they are going to handle the dorsal turret issue on this one.) Nevertheless, you can follow the progress at the restoration web site:

And as TankNut said: You can never have enough Lancasters!

Be good to get her cleaned up and put on display indoors. Awesome aircraft well worth preserving.

Re: Pics of a lancaster beign brought back to life

Little off topic, but does anyone know what they did with the Lancaster that was in Windsor?
It was on a static pedestal and was taken down to be restored, but I cant find any information.

That plane is one of the reasons I collect Diecast. Use to be my favourate park as a kid. Wanted to have my Wedding pictures taken there, but the wife preferred a flower garden for the backdrop.

Oh well.

Well answered my own question. It is currently on tour and will be getting restored at the Windsor airport.

Here is the link to a picture in 1990 when it was on display:

And here is a link to the restoration:

My, my my. Imagine a bride choosing a flower garden over an airplane for her wedding. Some people just have no taste!
