| I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Hamilton warplane heritage Thanks for the pics tank nut. Takes me back to my visit a few years ago. It's a superb museum guys, well worth the visit, and if you can spare the funds, take the Lancaster flight (you have to book well in advance via the Canadian Warplane Heritage website). The museum volunteers are a very friendly bunch, and the facility is spotless - you could eat off of the floors! On a sad note, the Hurricane and Spitfire are replica's purchased after the original flying examples were destroyed in a hangar fire many years ago. | |||||||||||||

| Hey guys, if you ever do get to go they got one huge gift shop too!! I could spend a lot of dough in there real fast lol. They carry all kinds of diecast, books, paintings you name it they have it to go!! One thing cool about my vist this time was I got to see the lancaster and the b-25 torn down as they were getting them ready for the summer fight season. Lots of work goes into one of these to get them back flying and with spare parts rare, it is cool that they can keep them flying at all. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Hamilton warplane heritage Good photos, Tank Nut. I live about 15 minutes from the museum and have not been there in years. Spent most of the 80's as a volunteer working on restorations. Got to fly in a good number of the aircraft. Now, I often get to watch them from my window coming and going during airshow season. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Hamilton warplane heritage I paid a visit to this museum twice now and while it's the only one I went to, it's really impressive. Did you know that they house the only other flying lancaster in the world (I believe the first is in the UK). For a $1000 with a min/max of 4 quest you can take flight in this plane for an hour? You can also choose between the havard for the same price if my memory serves me correctly. I also took a lot of pictures and they do have more planes outside as well including a nice B-25 bomber. I knew about the hangar fire but didn't know it destroyed those planes, what a shame. | |||||||||||||
