I had to take my friends airplane to Akron for him, and we were in the museum, so I thought I would share some pics with you guys.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: MAPS Air Museum

Great pictures MD....It' looks so sad seeing that TBM sitting out in the snow.
Hope they plan on making her look the way she once did.
Got to get yourself a 352nd jacket......Blue noser style..

Re: MAPS Air Museum

Yeah, I am not sure about that TBM. I don't think it is real. I think it is a full scale fiberglass mock up. It is not that weathered. I remember that a theme park had one on display to represent a Flight 19 Avenger at the bottom of the ocean. I think this is that airplane, but I am not sure. I just saw it when we were on our way back. We used one of the volunteers cars, and saw that on the road. I am tryign to find out more. I used to work on the B-26 in the pics when it was at Air Heritage years ago. It is nice to see the progress made. By the way J.P., I am a huge fan of the Gentile, as you can tell.

Re: MAPS Air Museum

That Jacket is my trust A-2. Every pilot should have one. It sounds funny, but I love that jacket. I bought it right when my wife and I got married, and she did not understand why I needed not just any leather jacket, but an A-2. My flight jackets is from Neil Cooper, who still makes the jackets for the Air Force, and made them during WWII. Mine has the tag on the inside that states the contract number for the Air Force.

Re: MAPS Air Museum

Nice pics. I gotta get out there, I know it's not too far.
And yeah, nice jacket as well. My wife last year for christmas tried to get me one, but ended up getting me a J.Crew "Flight Jacket" which well, wasn't an A-2. Funny thing is that as we were going to take it back, her uncle liked it, and so he bought it from us. She got points for trying, as it was a great idea, but I got the refund money .
