This museum is just up the road from me here in Lawrence. I used to go to it when I was a kid with my dad and it was slowly deteriorating into a complete wreck. I remember it having a wealth of weapons - the Vickers really made an impression on me as a kid.

It has taken a great deal of time and wrangling to secure funding to refurbish this museum to its new state. There were many times it appeared it would die on the vine but fortunately it has finally come to fruition. In many ways, WWI is becoming the Forgotten War as well.

Interesting museum. Not many museums dedicated to WW I.
