More Mustangs

Just got the two new Mustangs by MP. No difference with the aircraft. The paint jobs are nice. 'Ole Flak Joe and Starduster.
Hopefully we will see some more new airframes coming out soon.
Nice to see the F-105 made the cut for next years production run. A whole Century Series would really be nice! They already have the F-104.

I know a lot of folks don't like the different scales the aircraft come in. Does not bother me a bit. In fact it gives me alot more room on the shelves for display.
Also the wide variety of airframes is nice.
The product has improved over the past few years, but to keep the price reasonable I am sure a bit of detail is sacraficed. No biggy, they are a nice hobby.

Re: More Mustangs

Harv,

I agree. I like the MP aircraft and they have improved the quality a bit over the last few series. I usually add a little more detail with paint or decals, and like to weather them a bit. I'll be looking for the new P-51's.

Re: More Mustangs

I finally found the P-51D "Starduster" last week, and on initial examination, noticed even more quality to the markings, compared to my other MP P-51D ("Flying Undertaker"). I also got out the magnifying glass, and if you carefully look for what appear to be solid lines on parts of the aircraft, are actually readable stencils! One of them says "Battery Location", and another one on the left side of the fusalage behind the cockpit in a circular shape is something to do with the fuel type. There are other stencils on the drop tanks and other parts of the fusalage. It never ceases to amaze me the level of detail that these smaller models have.

Re: More Mustangs

Let's hope they make the F-105 a decent size---not tiny like their Mig-23. The one I am really looking forward to is the BF-110. Here's a great chance for MP to elevate its status and turn out an impressive model. But will it? Who knows?

I guess that's a bit like speculating whether or not tank nut will win a Pulitzer Prize this year....
