Thumbs up New Arrivals

Got three new MP aircraft yesterday. Two new, and one repaint.

The B-25J is from the 429th Bomb Squadren. It has the "Parrot-Head" paint job on the nose. Same scale as the other two B-25's out already. (1:100)

Next is the B-24D. Similar to the two B-24J's out already.

Lastly is the Do 217E / Me 328 combo. It is labled as (1:72) It is nicely done and very unique! I think this will be a big hit for people to collect!

Look forward to hearing what everyone thinks.

Re: New Arrivals

I do not have any pics on me at this time. It looks just like the picture that MP has out.
Nice paint/camo and pretty good on the details.
Worth picking up. It says 1/72 on the scale. That will make the folks who collect that catagory happy.

Re: New Arrivals

I forgot. It even balances well on its stand!

Re: New Arrivals

I received my DO-217 last Friday and have already redone it in standard maritime bomber livery ( sorry, I'm not good at pictures ). In general I am quite pleased with the outcome, however the stand is way too small and it is definitely unstable. Also, the scale is more like 1:100, not 1:72 as touted by Model Power in its ads.

Re: New Arrivals

I just went to the Diecast Direct site to see if the Do 217 was in, and their description put the scale as 1:93.

PLUS, they also listed a second Do 217 coming out at the end of the year : DORNIER DO 217E 8/KG2

This is a different plane than the Piggyback version that's coming out now. The price on this one is lower that the Piggyback version, so I'm assuming it is just the Do 217 by itself. Unfortunately, they didn't have any pictures yet. I hope this turns out to be real and not just another Model Power hallucination!

I believe that this unit flew DO-217Es from bases in Holland in 1942-1943. Their primary operations were nocturnal, which called for a two-green topside splinter pattern, while their bottoms were matt black. If memory serves me correctly, one of the more obscure kit-makers (ESCI?) put out a version of this capable medium bomber about 25 years ago using such a motif. I hope I'm right about this since I like this plane and will certainly buy more of them.

Wish it was in 1/72 scale instead of the odd 1/100.

I just purchased it and it will add a unique presence in my IXO Lutfwaffe collections for sure!
