Re: Diecast biplane query

Depending on your son's age it might not be a good idea tot hang ANY biplane from the ceiling ! Not only the anchor of the complete mobile is an issue but also the individual strings are in themselves a significant risk if they were to fall within the child's reach. If one or more of the biplanes were to fall within his reach they will become an instant chocking and/or strangling hazard.

I would use short strings (that cannot be wrapped around a child's neck) to hang some monoplanes without any wheels, machine guns, antennae or props that will be a lot sturdier and less likely to dismember into small parts if they were to fall.

Re: Diecast biplane query

I would only give you a friendly advice : "KEEP CLEAR OF DE AGOSTINI RANGE !"

Some weeks ago, I ordered a Mitsubishi F1M from Macemundi, mainly to assess what this range is worth :

The WORST piece of CRAP you can imagine ! It went directly from the parcel to the BIN !

Believe me, even IXO's are luxury items in comparison ...

Fully agree with the above sentiments - I have to confess I was taken in, like a noob, by the pix on evilBay of the Hs-123. "Great", I thought, "a 1/72 Spanish Civil War biplane model at last!". What a piece of shite - made of lead (!), looks clunky as all hell, with badly-fitted drop-tank and bombs. The only thing stopping me from binning it is memory of the cost of shipping, and the fact it is an actual Civil War livery...but I put it well behind all the IXO models in my display case...

Re: Diecast biplane query

I've been thinking about this, and it still seems like a bad idea to hang diecast airplanes from the ceiling in a child's room. You could put your eye out with one of those .

I would seriously consider plastic airplanes. Hallmark's "Sky's the Limit" ornaments would be a good choice if you don't mind civilian airplanes. There are also a few other choices for biplanes if you don't mind searching for them on eBay...

Flexibility is the key to airpower.
Indecision is therefore the key to Airpower.
