Does anyone own a MP 1:48 model? If so, what do you think of the quality, detail, accuracy, as compared to C1? Obviously price is a big difference!

Re: 1:48

Oh man, C1 is way better. That is not to take anything away from Model power. But if you are looking for more of a realistic diecast, go with C1. Now I do have a T-34 that Model Power did in Navy markings, and it is a sweet looking airplane.

Re: 1:48

I have most of the Fokker Dr.1's and there not bad.
Paint is a little glossy ....But with a little Dullcoat you be fine.
They have rigged lines as well.
I like the Carousel Fokker's better.
I can't wait to see my Carousel Werner Voss Dr 1 that is coming Friday.

Re: 1:48

I like my MP Red Barron Dr 1 just fine. Didn't feel an urge to upgrade to Carousel One (maybe I would have if the C1 prices were a bit lower).

Oh, careful there Starman. Elmer is liable to faint at the sight of these exposed screwheads!

Maybe you should post a warning or something.

Re: 1:48

Thanks Starman. I like it. Found one for $26 shipped so I'm thinking about it.

Seems like a nice balance between the Matchbox and C1.

MB are 1/48 too aren't they. Now I can't think...

Re: 1:48

Parsig, I like my Kempf 1:48 MP Fokker Tripe. But it's only balanced between the Carousel and Matchbox in the sense that it has appropriate rigging. It is shiny, therefore it looks metalic, whereas the Matchbox, though lacking rigging, has a much more realistic, flatter finish. Matchbox also has a detailed prop, and a rotary engine that actually turns with the propeller, whereas the cylinders on the MP do not turn, and in fact are too long to fit inside the engine cowling even if they could turn. The MP prop has some detail, but, unlike the Matchbox, is all one color.

Again, I have a number of MP's, and like them, but the Matchbox is certainly superior to the MP, and really rivals the Carousel in everything except rigging.
