| Model Powers Fokker D VII line up I like to keep a record of all of the die-cast planes which have been released. Since Armour & Easy Model planes come with catalogs, Corgi & Hobby Master planes have wonderful fan sites & Dragon, Witty, IXO & Hobby Master’s websites list all of there previous releases it has been easy for those planes. Since Postage Stamp planes do not have any archival resources it can be difficult if you loose track of an out of stock plane. I am confused about Model Powers Fokker D VII line up. I see stores have a red & blue D VII item number 5332 in stock; however I have also seen a profile of a brown, tan & green camo D VII with the same item number (5332). Is the brown, tan, & green D VII an actual plane or just concept art? | |||||||||||||

| Excellent Fokker D7 - get this! I recently found the MP D7 at my local shop; while a bit dubious about getting it, I can heartily recommend this model. Excellent paint scheme - which is apparently authentic - very well put together, and good detailing (notably the twin 'spandaus', and connection of the biplane wing spars). And in 1/70 scale, so it goes well with my nascent Corgi biplane collection. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Model Powers Fokker D VII line up Hi from Oz. The red & blue DVII is a re-production of Rudolph Berthold's machine. An amazing story - this guy was wounded about 7 times and still survived the war...only to meet an untimely end to riotors in 1920. Apparently, he was strangled with the ribbon to his Blue Max! If you are a DVII fan - look up the Osprey books "Fokker DVII Aces of World War 1 - Parts 1 & 2" (Aircraft of the Aces Series). They are very informative, having been factually researched and have some rare photographs. I actually asked the same question regarding the colour scheme of MP's DVII (MP5332). Hobbylinc have this colour scheme in its catalogue. Hobbylinc advised me that its model (MP5332) is in fact the red and blue model. The release date for the MP5332-1 (being the all camouflaged machine) has been put back to December (from July) and looks great. Although I am not sure whether it is an exact replica of an actual machine. Does anyone know? Cheers | |||||||||||||

| Re: Model Powers Fokker D VII line up Hi Kiwi...what biplanes do U have? Also, I'm unfamiliar with the Corgi models - are any currently in 1:70 (or similar) scale? Cheers from Oz | |||||||||||||

| Re: Model Powers Fokker D VII line up I think Kiwi is referring they mix in well with non WW I Corgi aircraft, as Corgi just recently brought out WW I, and they are 1:48. | |||||||||||||

G'day Buggles, how's Algie...? Corgi only do the Gladiator and Swordfish in 1/72 - absolutely excellent models, with full rigging. If you see them, get 'em! They're out in the cheaper "Legends" range as well - but still with the same details as the 'Aviation Archive' series, only without a stand. Interestingly enough, one can order separate stands from Corgi directly (see my post in the Corgi section) BTW - the lack of wing rigging on the MP Fokker D VII is NOT a mistake - apparently this WW1 fighter had a cantilevered wing, which did not require bracing wires. I've searched Google for pix of actual museum Fokkers (there are several around), and none of them show rigging. | ||||||||||||||
