Re: Wow! Do 217 + ME-328 MISTEL "PIGGY BACK"

I saw the post and thought Yipee at last a Do217, but the ballon popped when I saw that it was some obscure scale. I would have been first in line if it had been 1/72. Tisk!

Yes, Me too when I first heard about it! If it was a 1/72...then I would be all over it. As I am sure many would be too. But a 1/100 scale?

In the latest issue of Flight Journal there is a full-page add for Model Power featuring this and the caption indicates it is 1/72 scale. Ditto on the Model Power web site. Could this be?

Is it me or this shot doesn't appear to be in 1:72nd scale???

Maybe Postage Stamp/Model Power have 'retooled' this model(s) so that it maybe released as a 72nd combo? Man, sign me up!

Re: Wow! Do 217 + ME-328 MISTEL "PIGGY BACK"

The stand that the Do 217 is sitting on appears to be the standard Model Power stand that comes with all their planes. I compared the Do 217 picture with my Model Power Junkers Ju-88 on its stand. They both appear to be right about the same size and proportion. And the Ju-88 is scale 1:98.

So, personally, I'm not getting overexcited that the Do 217 and friend are going to be in 1:72 scale. Model Power hasn't done it before, so I'm rather suspicious. It would be awesome if it was 1:72, but I'm gonna wait for official confirmation. But I'm gonna get it either way since its the only Do 217 out thar!

Model Power has also posted pictures of repaints of the Fokker D VII and Ju-87

I agree... the picture shot does NOT look to be in 1/72 scale. If it is, there seems to be very little detail for this scale.

It does look crude for 1/72 scale. Very little detail and the guns look as big as that 88mm cannon the Corgi Ju-88 is sporting.

Bought the Postage Stamp JU88. Gave it away. Won't buy a DO217 unless it's 1:72 scale.

Re: Wow! Do 217 + ME-328 MISTEL "PIGGY BACK"

I was checking out a local hobby store and found the MP Mistel for $20. Such a deal!! The box did not have a scale and I know MP's penchant for "out-of-the-ordinary" scales...but I thought this one was way to cool to pass on. But my surprise -- the stand says the Mistel is 1:72.

Looks okay sitting next to next to IXO Arrow and Owl.
