New Airfix Nimrod

Just to let you see what the new Nimrod kit looks like, crisp mouldings, with plenty of details and weapon load,I know some were dissapointed with the lack of detail in the bomb bay but with a full weapon load in you wont see much. Painting instructions are full colour and the decal sheet is very comprehensive though it looks a bit thick and glossy. This joins the production line after the Wessex HAS.1 and HU.5 Commando and I think I am going to borrow my mates airbrush for this one as brush painting may be a bit difficult

Good luck with that one Sniper & thanks for posting the pics, how I wish I had the artistic skills to do justice to that beauty....the decal set alone would fill me with dread

...Oh, it wouldn't be that difficult at all....It would just look like hell...... I didn't even know Airfix was still in business.Looks like they've improved quite a bit since the last kit of theirs I had....

Re: New Airfix Nimrod

Airfix kits look like they have come a long way. That kit has an impressive looking decal sheet with nice looking color depiction. Putting that one together should be a real fun project.

Thumbs up Re: New Airfix Nimrod

Looks like an interesting project Sniper. That's one cool bird. I'm already looking forward to seeing it complete. I was very tempted by the Corgi one but didn't like the price. Guess who's the sucker now?

Re: New Airfix Nimrod

Main airframe assembled ,masked and primed just waiting for the airbrush and a tin of hemp.Very easy build with only a couple of minor problems that needed a touch of filler.Looks like there is a problem with the decals so roundels and serials will come out of the stash I think this may be finished in the markings of the one I flew in.

and to give an idea of size

Re: New Airfix Nimrod

I'd say that's a fairly large model. That's good to see someone taking on large projects.

No problem, I took on a large project when I met Lorraine.

Its good to see Airfix have made those sprue attachment points a lot finer.

How are Lorraine's sprue attachment points?
