Re: Rust effect on WWII Submarine how?

r.k. Re;the emboldened quote........

....

1. If I didn't get an 'ear-bashing', I'd love to pick up the Revell 1/72 version (U-boat).

Better to make mistakes on a £.30 kit, than a £.225 kit.

....

2. We need a State-side forum member, like hworth18, or no4mkit, to try & advise you in the right direction, regarding U.S. & Canadian I.P.M.S. shows.
(I'm assuming you may attend one of those, as opposed to Europe ????)

....

3. I would bet my 'bottom-dollar' that the 1/72nd Revell U-boat is (probably) far more easily available over here,
than it is to certain area's of the U.S. - or MOST CERTAINLY in your part of the World ???????

  1. Yea but then again the quality may differ very much between the two.
  2. i'd love to but that ends right there. I've just graduated(just left with one catch-up exam due to recent flood disaster here (which is due on 28th Feb) so i'm a little thin on cash. And a little is a big euphemisms. Perhaps cash starving would be a better word
  3. I got it yesterday(sunday) though at a hefty price about US$100.00 excluding the paints. I'm a little dissapointed though because it seems i have to drill holes all over the hull. I saw a recent model by Trumpeter. It's a 1/44 Gato submarine. There's no need to drill any hole on their model(the holes pre-existed). It's much cheaper too only US$ 20 and it's quite big too.

Re: Rust effect on WWII Submarine how?

Thx for the link LzyBns. I'll check it out

It's one hole at a time. No I'm not talking about golf.
I use hand to drill those with improvised tools. there are about 128 holes i intend to drill . Have finished 13 today.

The previous Gato imentioned is actuallu 1/144(sorry it was a typo). It looks good. I'm tempted to buy it($20.00). Perhaps after this one finished.
