Re: A few issues

Skunky it's many years since I built a plastic kit, but I would have thought that acetone being a solvent would melt plastic real quick.

Re: A few issues

Glad you brought that up, Aircrafty....Yes, you do have to be careful with the stuff for sure...Actually the best thing is to use acetone-based nail polish remover with a Q-tip. Then wipe off excess with alcohol. I've never had a problem with any meltdowns but I'd hate to feel responsible for it happening to someone else...Thanks!

Re: A few issues

Hi Ty,

You might want to download a free booklet from FineScale Modeler magazine on the basics of modeling. It's in pdf format, lots of color photos, good tips, and perhaps best of all, it's free:
http://www.finescale.com/fsm/objects/pdf/fsmbooklet.pdf

Oh, did I mention it's free?

Re: A few issues

I would expect to pay $59.95 for something of that description.

All such free booklets cost $9.95, Skunkie, and you may tender that amount to my PayPal address.

Re: A few issues

Thanks Bob! I'm going to try the super glue method on the X-1 I'm working on. If not I'll try your bondo method Skunky since I know I can get that stuff easily

I'm not altogether certain you're ready for Skunky's Bondo or Sado methods, Ty. You might reconsider....
