minichamp firstseries german panther & king tiger-collectible?

i am new to this forum but have been collecting minichamp german 1/35th scale
tanks for a couple of years.
i have the first issue minichamp panther with "RO1" on the turrent-mint cond. w/orginal box,etc
i also have the minichamps german 1/35th scale "king tiger" with no#222 on the turrent.mint w/box
how collectible and scarce are these 2 tanks-i saw on themotorpool.net they are saying the
panther is going now for 500.00 roughly and the king tiger is going for over $400.00.
how collectible are these 2 tanks and desirability in the collecting market?
thanks joe

Re: minichamp firstseries german panther & king tiger-collectible?

I think those estimates are a bit... "optimistic" generally. A few have gone for those prices, but the real average I would say is closer to $300-350 for the R01 and $150-200 for the KT. At least that's what I sold mine for not too long ago (6 months?). And I've seen several go for less on ebay in that time.

Hi Joe, welcome to the forum. These tanks are very desireable, especially the Panther. They can fetch very high prices too. I watched the Motor Pool auction of a King Tiger today and it ended just over $256 with the reserve not met. Two Panthers went for $299 & $316 on ebay recently. King Tigers went for $158 and $185 all within the last week or so. I picked up a King Tiger for $80 last weekend. It's all about timing. If you're looking to sell, I'll take the panther off your hands in a heartbeat!

The king Tiger sell for $200.00 & the Panther for $300.00 average price , but I think in general the Minichamps 1/35 armour price is on the way down going by ebay the last two months

I would not pay top $ for that Motor Pool auction of a King Tiger when it did not have a photo of the tank or the box & did not say if it was new

Re: minichamp firstseries german panther & king tiger-collectible?

thanks for the info.i feel themotorpool is way overpriced on minichamp first series-
they are beautifully made tanks for sure and i knw they have a higher percent of diecast
compared to fov .you have to remember themotorpool wants to sell diecast items
also they want you to think there is a collectible market on everything they sell-i
buy and sell o gauge trains and have been in this market a long time-i used to belong to ebay
-i have over 275 positive feedbacks.a woman ripped me off for over 600.00 selling a postwar lionel
steamer as mint when it was crap-she had no feedback and yet the ebay safe harbor sided with her.
my years of using their site was nothing to ebay-i filed a fraud charge with the uspo and won-fs
from south afrika i sent you a message.thanks joe

challenger01, welcome to the forum. Just noticed that these were your first posts today. This is a great place to get information with regards to diecast models.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Your not the only one that feels this way towards mototpool. Personally, I would never buy from them as I think their prices are overkill++
