Anybody here collect Minichamps 1/18 diecast cars?

How much are they tagged? Are they more expensive than their tank cousins?

Just some day ago I saw a Minichamps 1/18 Mercedes Benz SLK. It looks darn beautiful. It was tagged at approximately US$ 125.00

And I just read from another forum that their SLK 500 seat are of real leather......darn.

Re: Anybody here collect Minichamps 1/18 diecast cars?

Can't tell you much about street cars since I don't collect them, but I have plenty of Minichamps racing models ranging from Formula 1 to 1:12 MotoGP and WSB bikes. It's middle of the road company ($75 - $100USD by nowadays prices), with some good models and some real dogs. The biggest problem with racers is the graphics are still primarily decals.

Some street cars like various Bentleys are incredibly well done way above par for what Minichamps has been able to produce in the past, but once again, I never held one in my hand, and I go by the pictures here:

Re: Anybody here collect Minichamps 1/18 diecast cars?

Thanks Sergey.....I'm looking for Aston MArtin Vanguish from Minichamps but not available in local stores.

I'm also looking for the Ascari KZ1 in black particularly. Darn beautiful thing. Is there an Ascari KZ1 diecast? I hope the I can afford the price. I don't dare to buy diecast at more than US$150.00

The only 1/18 Minichamps car I have is an FX4 black London Cab Its a good quality model, much better than its Sun Star equivalent.

Sun star? LOL that's not a brand worthy to compare with Minichamps...

Thanks for the picture. Looks very nice. Is there something between you and a London black cab ? One knocked you over once or thrice?

Smile Re: Anybody here collect Minichamps 1/18 diecast cars?

I've been thinking of getting the Minichamps 911 Carrera in red. I've seen them on the net starting at $75 or about R650 plus here. Very nice. I'm into Porsches and have some UTs and Auto Art but the Minichamps is very good indeed too, if not better than the Auto Art even. That said I've been more focussed on aircraft and tanks so I now have 4 Minichamps tanks with another inbound.

Cool Re: Anybody here collect Minichamps 1/18 diecast cars?

Seen one or two busses, they're really stunning. I haven't seen anything else come close.

I also collect Diecast 1:18 F1 Cars Mattel and Minichamps. Although Minichamps is far more superior than Mattel, I do noticed that Mattel's decals are much more durable than that of Minichamps.

I have here a Bennetton B195 Michael Schumacher, my oldest so far, and the decals seems to peel, and very brittle. A TOYOTA TF104 which the Panasonic rear decal also starting to peel. considering that I do take extra care of these models.

have you experience any of these?

Not really, San Francisco climate is much milder then that of Philippines. Only a few models that I've bought second hand show these problems, but they were fixed for the post part with Micro Sol and Micro Set. However, I have very few models from the 1990s, most of my stuff was made in post-2000.

Sergey
