Re: Do i have a unique jagdpanther?

Logitech replaced the speakers without charging you for additional shipping because Logitech is the manufacturer.

Motorpool is not the manufacturer, and the product was not "broken". Good luck trying to get the motorpool to ship a replacement for free. I wouldn't expect that.

I really think your best recourse would be to contact the manufacturer, since you have a defective (not broken) item. By defective, I mean a manufacturing defect. This is beyond the control of the motorpool. However, as has been mentioned before, if the entire production run is defective, you won't get satisfaction from a replacement.

Impact on value is hard to say, but I would pay less for in incorrect vehicle. My opinion, of course.

I PMed you the email addy of a shop here in the States that should have them in stock. The owner will check it for you before he ships it, so you can confirm whether they all have that defect. Send him the pic and he will tell you.

Re: Do i have a unique jagdpanther?

Thanks for the link tophat. Ive decided to keep the jagdpanther though, i don't think ill ever actually sell it so its market value is unlikely to be tested. The guy from themotorpool.net was courteous and quick to reply and explained the situation well, so im just gonna leave it as is since the differing wheel dosent particularly bother me much and to me it wouldn't be worth the shipping cost and wait time for a replacement.

Ta for the advice and help guys, its appreciated.

Re: Do i have a unique jagdpanther?

Thanks, ill keep that in mind.

Ive emailed themotorpool.net some more and theyve said that i can return the item and they will ship me a new one. I have to pay for the return charges states their policy and im not sure but i gather that they ship a new one out after they recieve the defective one. I dunno i might just keep it, paying more and waiting a week for them to recieve my jagdpanther and waiting another week for the new one to arrive sounds like a lot of hassle for a wheel.

Will this wheel defect detract from its future value if i ever decide to sell? It personally dosent bother me too much that one wheel is different as the thing still looks good but its the future value that worries me.

With the wheel defect it will make a big difference to the price as most t buyers like the tank & the box mint
I would ask the motorpool for a part refund as the tank is not mint , or take it up with paypal

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I think it was mint unless the motorpool swapped out the wheel. If it came from the manufacturer that way, that's the way it was made.

For what it's worth, the official photo from Minichamps does not show the error--at least on the left side.

Posting accurate links to pages on the Minichamps site have been a challenge, but this might work:

Re: Do i have a unique jagdpanther?

Here's a picture of the left side posted on the site of a vendor who still has it in stock. If the picture can be trusted, it appears to confirm that the left side is devoid of the problem. Unfortunately there are no pictures of the right side.

Re: Do i have a unique jagdpanther?

I have the very same model in my collection, and I can say for a fact that this is not a series-wide defect. Mine is perfect.

I would deal with the manufacturer.

Re: Do i have a unique jagdpanther?

Maybe, but this brings up a point I have often wondered about. What does "mint" mean? Traditionally, it means that the item has not been removed from the packaging...but what if the item is defective as packaged by the manufacturer? IMO, it is technically in "mint" condition, but is it really mint given that it is defective? Should the item command the same price as a mint non-defective item? In my mind, the answer is no...but it is mint. Hmmm....

You my friend is one heck of a nice guy. This world needs more people like you so breeeeeeeeeeed. That's an order.

Nice tanks. Been wanting this too. My local dealer sucks. But the positive note my wallet doesn't burn as fast.
