Your favorite WWII and modern Minichamps tank

Sooner or later this thread will show up so let me be the first to express my opinion.

Without regard to paint scheme
1 Favorite WWII model: Jagdpanther

1.Favorite modern tank model: This is a hard decision as both the Leo2A4 and M1A2 compete real close to each other but eventually I'll have to give the honor to.....:Leo2A4

With regard to paint scheme->see Minichamps for reference under product, military then panzewagen

1. PANZERKAMPFWAGEN V JAGDPANTHER LATE VERSION 2nd WORLD WAR (350019020)->First Jagdpanther release?

1. PANZERKAMPFWAGEN LEOPARD 2 A4 1.ZUG 4./PZBTL 214,AUGUSTDORF 1993 (350011002)-->Snow Leo2A4

I don't own the Jagdpanther but I do own the Leo2A4 albeit the Greece version. Not my first choice but I just can't find the other Leo2A4 scheme. Besides it's not that bad it's just not as popular I mean the paint scheme.

So let hear it from you Minichamps fans

Re: Your favorite WWII and modern Minichamps tank

For me i dont have a favourite WW2 tank. I like them all, especially the first Panther release (R 01, which i dont have) and the Berlin 1945 Panther. Although both 88er are fantastic, especially when you combine them with the Prime Mover.

I only collect WW2 tanks so i dont have a favorite modern tank.

My favourites are the Panther and Leopard. I have the red striped Panther and camo Leopard. I wouldn't mind getting the snow Leopard and the 1st and 2nd versions of the Panther. Very pricey though. In general I would take any Minichamps tank at a decent price.

Re: Your favorite WWII and modern Minichamps tank

Easy.

Favorite WWII tank is (of course) a Tiger I (it always is for me, no matter who produces the models), the "350010001 PANZERKAMPFWAGEN VI TIGER 'FRANCE' 1944", although I miss the Zimmerit.

Modern tank would be the 350011002 Leopard with snow camouflage. I am still waiting for this one

Yea Minichamps Tigers are also rated high on my favorite list. A3driver the snow camouflage Leo2A4 is listed as out of stock or no longer being in production run. So I guess the only way for you to get it is through ebay. That's why I decided to get the Greece version the first time I spotted it in hobby shop. I just cant transact online.

@ZA-VAN yea I also think Minichamps tanks are pricey and I still think that model kit finish is still by large(though this depends on the modeler) the best tank model around with the weathering, chipped paint and excellent painting detail. But I still buy Minichamps tanks for two main reasons:
a. They are heavy in metal content so you would get the feeling of real tanks, quality and strength.
b. Metal chain track just like in the real tanks with rotating wheels and WORKING SUSPENSION of each wheels. Though I don't roll the tanks but I found this quality to be amusing and extremely appealing.

the weaknesses for Minichamps tanks are
a. Mint condition paint scheme which I personally feel downgraded the feeling of seeing a realistic tank model but it is probably the safest marketing approach as each person may have different taste as to what considered as realistic weathering.

b. Minor lacking in paint detail including the all silver metal tracks( I wanna see the rubber pads painted black) among other one or two minor detail void like the viewing slits or the gunner thermal not being painted dark .

c. Some minor mold imperfection for example the assymetrical drive sprocket in the Leo 2A4 series.

But the strengths outweighed the flaws so overall it's still the best 1/35 diecast model around. Probably for a long time.

Btw are you referring to the Greece camo Leo? I don't recall any Leo as having red stripes on its hull?

Re: Your favorite WWII and modern Minichamps tank

I would have to put my votes in for the 'Snow Leopard' (modern) and the R01 Normandy Panther (WWII) . Their Normandy 251 Half-track and Jagdpanther are also superb .

Re: Your favorite WWII and modern Minichamps tank

King Tiger "Ardennes 1944" and, second, Panther "R1" (I own both).

Leopard II German Army, European cammo (#350011001).

I wish they made the M1A1 in European cammo as well, to go with the Leo II and T-72 from the cold war era. That probably would become my favorite modern tank. Maybe some day...

No, I was referring to the third issue Panther.

Its like choosing your favorite child, its impossible, having said that I am rather fond of my winter Jagdpather.

Having just received my first modern tank, I can now add the T-72 to my list, it is very nice
