Minchamps Centurion

There are some good pictures of the Centurion up on Diecastdirect.com site. I clicked on their picture, and up they came. But what I noticed is the tracks are not the usual silver metal color, but black. I hope this doesn't mean their plastic? I have most of the Minichamps tanks, and all the treads are silver metal, these Centurion tracks are different. What's up?

Re: Minchamps Centurion

I could not resist the Centurion when I saw it recently. I do not collect Minichamps anymore because of space but this was a must have. I stepped on the commander's Browning .30machine gun unit which fell off while I was examaning the tank. The unit was beyond repair. Aside from Minichamps themselves is there another unit/accessory that would fit and look right? Thanks in advance 'mein experten'

Well that sucks you can try buying 1/35 Centurion model kit. Try googling Centurion 1/35 model kit.

I think there's at least one company which made them recently. Of course you may need to glue it and paint it black.

Edit: I just googled it and there's a Tamiya 1/35 Centurion Mk 3 tagged at about US$23.00. I don't exactly know that the machine gun is the same but it may worth further investigation if you don't mind paying US$23.00 just to replace the browning MG. Perhaps you could build the kit without the MG, paint it in IDF color or something and give it away to me LOL.

Re: Minchamps Centurion

You know i've said I'm done with armour, after dabbling with MC stuff -- and I'm by no means a big fan of this tank, but it does look really good. Hmmmmmmmmmm..........

Re: Minchamps Centurion

I've got the tri-color Leo, the T-72 and the Centurian. The Centurian is the most impressive. No lack of metal on that model. The T-72 looks and feels like a plastic kit in comparison.

Re: Minchamps Centurion

The Centurion is a real prize. I think it is the nicest diecast Minichamps has conjured up so far.
