Wink Re: Minchamps Centurion

Thanks for that Roh. I'll spend a few bucks geting plastic and then adapting it.

I'd also look at other kits with a .30 cal Browning. With a little luck you could find infantry or a Jeep with one.

Re: Minchamps Centurion

Thanks ZS. I'm going in to a 'plastic' store tomorrow to have a root around. I know Academy do a weapons kit that might suit. The Centurion seems bare without the MG.

Re: Minchamps Centurion

My Father was a Centurion radio operator in Germany 1950-51, he said they did'nt have the Browning on the turret back then only the BSA at the front. I guess you could always think of your MG-less Centurion as an early verison one

Wink Re: Minchamps Centurion

Maybe some of us just like having the MGs there. I have a few Dragon Shermans but the standout is the one with both the .50 and .30 MGs on top of the turrent. I agree with Shamrock, it just makes it look complete.

Yeah, all the models Ive seen of them have the MG on top including the 1/72 HM's. Maybe they only fit them in service when there's a conflict on, Germany was pretty quiet for my Dad

Re: Minchamps Centurion

I was lucky enough to source an Academy plastic weapons kit which has the .30 cal Browning in 1/35 scale. The mounting on this Centurion is unusual as it attaches directly on to the hatch. I've left it in to a model maker who can create 'marvels' from sprue etc. I'm probably being a bit 'anal' about this but the MG kind of sets it all off. Where would we be without our obsessions

Re: Minchamps Centurion

I dropped the UK agents Amerang Group a mail on the off chance that they might have a replacement MG part. One arrived today in the post. Hats off to great service from the UK Minichamps agents. As George Michael sang " You gotta have faith"
