Re: Tiger and Sherman

We are a small but enlightened, not to mention discerning, Band of Minichamps Brothers . Our numbers will grow as those who are affected by the mist of ignorance start to discover the true diecast armour path ... a road from which there is no return and none sought

One sheep to rule them all ...

Well, somebody has to...

Re: Tiger and Sherman

I love Minichamps and my only frustration is how hard it is to get some of their issues these days, plus their very slow rate of new releases.

I now have 13 of their tanks/vehicles, and they are great. I only wish the tracks on the tanks were a bit darker/duller (the Centurion and T-72 have black tracks, but that's not quite right either).

But you got to love all that metal!

Re: Tiger and Sherman

I won a Sherman over the weekend. Hope I'll like it. I do have a Panther and Leopard. Great diecast! Love 'em.

I was the under bidder on that Sherman (desert Scheme on eBay, theres no secrets on the internet ) you got it for a very nice price. I don't understand the grief that the Sherman gets it quite a nice model in the flesh, just doesn't have the presence or mass of the others from WW2,

I currently have 9 (all from WW2) and I'm always on the lookout for more. although they aren't the easiest or cheapest thing to obtain here in OZ.

The only thing that comes close to Minichamps is Tamiya's Masterwork series, even though they aren't fully diecast they are superbly detailed.

I'm interested in seeing how they look next to the two GMP 1/35 aircraft that I have just purchased, and awaiting delivery,

I was very surprised to win the Sherman. In fact I'd forgotten about it until I was having a discussion with a DAF member who's also into these. He'd gotten the European one for £17. Since this was the Tunisian one my max bid was less. Don't really like going up against forum members though.
