Where are the black tyres on all of Minichamps M1A2 wheels?

Or have M1A2s(SEP) discarded the use of rubber tyres on its wheels? You know without rubber tyres the track would have friction and would probably snapped when braking hard.

The wheels where the tyres are supposed to be are supposed to be painted black...

Hello, roh-kudus. Yes, the M1A2 by Minichamps has no tyres, and this is an error. I spotted this problem when it was first released (I was going to buy it, which I eventually did not), and wrote Minichamps about it. They kindly answered that the fault would be corrected with their second Abrams release.

I emailed them and asked whether they have released their fixed version of M1A2.

If you look carefully at their official website, http://www.minichamps.de/default.asp?language=En
their posted picture of M1A2 does come with painted black rubber tyres but if you look throughly only the outer road wheels(and one on turret roof) have their tyres painted black while the inner road wheels still haven't been painted black.

Take a look at their website picture of M1A2. This is especially noticeable from the picture for the 2nd wheel from the front. Maybe that is their fixed version? Then I would rather have all of them not painted black.

But overall I'm quite happy with Minichamps model though the wheels let me down a bit. I was expecting quality finish on this premium model. Many people have been claiming that Minichamps is for serious collectors but the finish on M1A2 road wheels gives me an impression that Minichamps is one lazy company. Doh perhaps I should stick to model kit alone.

Minichamps quality is usually very good, but there's always the odd faulty model... Also, pictures in their web typically show pre-production master models, rather than the final product. In addition to those tyres only in the outer road wheels, the M1A2 picture is also funny in that the gun barrel has been installed leaning on the left side, and with its muzzle upside down!!

And I just noticed that is an M1A1!!! Man, c'mon, why can't manufacturers get things right? At least they got the wind sensor correct (cough...FOV...cough...)

Yea the pic is an M1A1 without the loader 7.62mm machine gun.

but the retail product is okay it is M1A2 The only faulty part is that the rubber tyres are not painted on any wheel roads that includes the one on the turret top.

It's not that I regret on having bought the M1A2 but it could have come with better finishing detail like painted black tyres. Dragon 1/72 scale M1A1 had the tyres painted okay so I don't see why a 1/35 manufacturer decided to leave this unpainted. It is obviously not 'faulty' model because it went through numerous quality inspection before going retail. In other words it was intentional to release the M1A2 without the tyres being painted. It's a fine model imo but It just came without the tyres painted black.

I prefer to have black tracks too as the M1 tracks are paddded with black rubber pads but this is not big deal and I don't mind the gun which is unable to depress as I assume it was such to avoid loose gun problem.

Does anyone here have the M1A2 or am I the only one who have bought it?

You know we should have a review sticky for every Minichamps tank release. The buyers could post his or her comments in each specific release thread accordingly or in each type release, whatever.
