Cool Re: Panzerkampfwagen V Panther Command Tank

I received my Panther and its a beauty! It's actually nice and dull, not as glossy as in the pics.

Re: Panzerkampfwagen V Panther Command Tank

Looking to find some replacement parts for this item.

The tank was shipped without the two command antennas. If anyone has a broken tank and or extra parts please PM me.

Thanks again!

I'm not familar with this tank at all. Looks kinda like a edible chocolate toy.

Does look like you can eat it though.
"New from Minichamps. A chocolatly delight with a splash of mint and vanilla flavors. This 1/35 scale WWII German Panther chocolate goodness with just melt in your mouth while you brouse through various threads on The Model Hanger Forum. Even the tank threads are very pleasing to the palet, with a hint of alumium. The machine gun on top of the turret can be used as a tootpick as well as the command antinee. The large turret gun will give you a 'exposive mouthful' of sweet German chocolate in every bite. For the sweet-tooth diecaster that has it all that is 'non-edible" anyway. A must especially for Easter! Suggested retail value is $34.95 + shipping. Discounts on 3 or more. Comes with a collectible-tin with collectors card and serial number. Limited edition to only 500. Similar to DragonlCyberhobby's armour tin (notice---the tin is not non-edible). Not recommended for storage in hot climates such as Florida, Central and South America, Africa and the Middle East. Not recommend for children under the age of 8 and the "PC crowd". ***NEW WARNING--MAY CONTAIN LEAD PAINT FROM CHINA***

I got the same one as yours! It came with the antenae even though it was second hand. As I said, the only difference I can see from the photos is the dull finish.

Ha Ha, that was a good one.

Anyways, the above picture can't do the model any justice.

This Minichamps model is a beauty.

Actually the pattern is correct. The German forces sometimes received tanks in there bare primed state and it was up to the local maintenance troops to use the available paints to camouflage their armor.

This particular tank was a command tank used on the East Front in the Ukraine and Poland. The soils in both area's had a very rust red hue, hence the paint job.

At least its not a some old, same old pattern.

Good job Minichamps keep those rare but realistic paint schemes coming!

Yup, I could have had that...............

I've seen pics of the real deal in some Battle of Berlin book (quite far from Ukraine if you ask me). It might look ridiculous, but it's authentic. Minichamps used Oder Front description, which I believe is correct. Circa April 1945 then.

Sergey

I am certain that the photo you mention did depict the same configuration being used on the Oder Front. I am also familier with that book and have seen other photos of complete units fighting in the Ukraine and Poland using the same camo pattern.

But keep this in mind; German production for heavy armor (tanks) almost became non existent by 1945 (With-drawl from Poland, Hungary, Battle of Berlin, etc.) Therefore the tanks that did survive their fighting with-drawls managed to make a last stand around the outskirts of Berlin with zero replacement coming from supply units.

Here's another piece of interesting info pertaining to High Command orders to tank manufacturers Circa September 1944.

Mid-September 1944, the tanks were left in the red primer as the base coat, with only limited camouflage applied by the factories. On 1944-10-31, this order was expanded to include that both Dunkelgelb RAL 7028, Olivgrün RAL 6003 and Rotbraun RAL 8017 should be applied in limited amounts over the red primer, and that Dunkelgrau RAL 7021 could be used in stead of Dunkelgelb RAL 7028 is no Dunkelgelb RAL 7028 was available. There is no evidence that Dunkelgrau RAL 7021 was ever used, though.
