| Minichamps M1A2 how is it? review? Anybody here own a Minichamps' M1A2? What's the quality like compared to other Minichamps models like the Leo2A4 or T72M1? Is it comparable? I saw the box pictures but found the paint too plastic like(glossy) and the color doesn't exactly match the real M1A1/2 that I've seen from TVs/videos/books. Too bad I can't peek inside at all angle before buying eh or at any angle for that matter. ![]() At 50 gallons per hour on idle, this tank drinks too much fuel. | |||||||||||||

Hell that must have hurt lol . I've just being told of this local dealer of Minichamps located downtown at Plaza Semanggi. The hunt begins again lolAnd i'll be sure to open the box just in case anything is broken in the inside at the first place that is if I decide to get my first Minichamps there. Thx for the warning. Expect the best but prepare for the worst ![]()

| Re: Minichamps M1A2 how is it? review? Well I visited the local Minichamps shop(and sole local distributor of Minichamps) at plaza Semanggi(Collector's corner, next to XL cellular customer service center on 1st level) but the shopkeeper was a cocky man who wouldn't wait on me. Anyway their collection of Minichamps were very few: two Panthers, two to three T-34/76s and an SdKfz 251(or was that a Dragon). There was no Sherman nor M1A2 nor T72 nor Leo2A4 in the shop. I asked whether Minichamps' tank hatches were openable and he answered no and I should get Franklin Mint instead if I want openable hatches. I asked where I could get Franklin Mint tanks and he answered lightly through the internet. When I answered back that I just couldn't transact over the internet he chuckled and said that if I wanted to collect them I would have to. I should have probably answered back :"Well so what the hell is your store is for?" I also asked for the shop business card and he said he ran out of them . Pathetic shopkeeper is a nightmare not only for the prospective customers but especially for the shop owners. | |||||||||||||

The shop keeper is right in what he saying if you want to buy most of the minichamps tank range then your need to buy of the net & ebay as most of the minichamps range as been sold out long time ago & is going up in price

| Re: Minichamps M1A2 how is it? review? Hi all! I'm new to the forum and relatively new to diecast armour collecting. I was undecided between the M1A2 from Minichamps and the one produced by Tamiya Masterworks. In fact, I spent considerable time studying both models closely at my local hobby shops. Personally, I preferred the paintwork on the Tamiya Masterworks 1:35 M1A2 (#21012).The tones look more realistic to me. The only drawback is that the Tamiya M1A2 is made of plastic. I would have settled for the Minichamps M1A2 if I was unable to buy the Tamiya model. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Minichamps M1A2 how is it? review? It is certainly a massive beast(in size and weight) when placed next to the T-72. The only real issue I have with it, and its one often made of Minichamps is that it is painted very much in mono, meaning yellow just about everything including the road wheels, tho i guess thats probably how they would have left the depot at the beginning of the GW. As much as I love Minichamps, I think it is unfair to compare them to Tamiya's MC, which to my mind are the absolute pinnacle of pre-assembled miniature armor collectibles. The only thing holding them back is the lack of weight in comparison to Minichamps and the prices that they now command. I am certainly happy to have it in my collection. ![]() | |||||||||||||

| Re: Minichamps M1A2 how is it? review?
I see where you are coming from. I suppose comparisons between the two are unavoidable since (i) it's the same tank in question and (ii) they are of the same scale. For those of us who are financially challenged and yet desire a 1:35 M1A2, it is inevitable that we have to weigh the pluses and minuses between buying the one by Minichamps or Tamiya MC

| Re: Minichamps M1A2 how is it? review? Model wise Minichamps M1A2 SEP is not bad. But there are certain things that might put you off. 1. The road wheel tyres are not painted black 2. The tracks are not black but silver 3. Pristine looking tank However there are things that I like about Minichamps tanks: 1. Rotating road wheels. 2. Working suspension 3. Track chains are really made of metal. 4. Of course the heavy feeling of metal. As far as I know the Tamiya M1A2 masterworks is more expensive well at least here in Jakarta they are sold at US$200.00 compared to US$100.00 for Minichamps' tanks. If I were you I would not buy any of them in hurry. As long as you have the cash why worry right? Take your time to consider between them. The hunt is more fun than the kill they say Happy M1A2 hunting! I would recommend Minichamps Centurion to you too. IMO it's really great. The first tank that Minichamps do that really look like a tank. No more silver tracks. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Minichamps M1A2 how is it? review? 200 bucks for a Tamiya Masterworks M1A2 is really steep. Haha! My situation is the exact reverse from yours. Minichamps are way over priced in Singapore - about S$200 or US$145. Come to think of it, I might try looking for the Minichamps M1A2 if I happen to pop by in Jakarta You're right about the Minichamps Centurion. It's a real prize, as is the T-72. | |||||||||||||
