Re: R01 Panther (aka 'Minichamps 'Holy Grail')

I'd like to see Minichamps do a Winter Panther/Tiger like they did with the Winter Jagdpanther (which is one of my all-time favorites).

Maybe if we both close our eyes and wish real hard......

Re: R01 Panther (aka 'Minichamps 'Holy Grail')

The 'feel' of a Minichamps tank model is second-to-none.

It is real diecast. It's got heft. Yet Minichamps has Tamiya-like detail. Metal tracks, working suspension.

The livery is an 'ambush' type pattern. Showroom new.

One note: This particular model is the only Minichamps Armor model without the usual 2 screwholes at the bottom (where it screws into the styrofoam packaging).

I also owe you a debt of thanks Mr. Football for opening my eyes to the beauty of this particular piece of die-cast some time ago. Also, when I saw it in the shop display cabinet, I immediately remembered the info you had mentioned previously (as you mentioned again in your recent post) regarding the lack of the screwholes on the bottom of the hull and voila there were none, just as you had said .

I'll now be on the lookout for a winter camo 251 half-track ...

One sheep to rule them all ...

Cool Re: R01 Panther (aka 'Minichamps 'Holy Grail')

Good for Cardinal, congrats. No pictures? What are your thoughts on the very oddly coloured maroon Pather? A bit garish?

Martin, that's a terrific find!

If you don't mind how much were they, and do they have any more?

Is this (perchance) the one and the same 'maroon' shade/colour, as featured in the other thread on the Minichamps Panther ????????

If it is, it's called "RottBraun" & it's a frequently applied German armour colour - BUT rather than guess, you got any pix guys??????
