Matchbox Large scale WWII planes

Here are some photos of the larger-scale Matchbox planes in my collection, they are far more detailed than most toys that this firm has released recently.

Re: Matchbox Large scale WWII planes

Nice planes. I've got the P-40, Spitfire and Mustang and they are really nice models. Matchbox offered a quality product for the money and I for one miss them. Luckily some of them are still available at a relatively low price. The P-38s are still rare and until Corgi releases their versions, the best out there.

I've got about half of mine on my web site, and except for the MiG-15's (and normally I LOVE the '15), I like them all. Sad that MB didn't keep going and growing The proposed X-1 would still be a classic, if they'd kept at it (MHO, of course).

Thumbs up Re: Matchbox Large scale WWII planes

Yeah, very sad to see them go... I love the green cammo Chinese Mig-15! That was the first die cast i bought @ Target for 12 bucks and opened thew door to this madness! I have a number of the other matchbox birds and they still hold up well against the others.

Re: Matchbox Large scale WWII planes

The John C Meyer P-51 NAHF Model was my first Diecast Model I bought in the toy section of Meijer and that began my Diecast madness I have been in it ever since.
I believe I actually have all the Matchbox Collectible planes
