I love(d) the Matchbox planes. I had all of the WWII models, as well asa few of the jets. (Still missing an F-100). Out of all of them, the only easy to see inaccuracy was the guns on the Hellcat not being staggered. Other than that, I had not a single complaint with them (Other than only being able to dispalyed in flight....) I think the MB pilots are the best ones out there - and they look really good in the Dragon planes as well . . .

BRING BACK MATCHBOX, PLEASE !

Jschlechty,
I just bought a F-100 on ebay and there is another on there right now.

Re: Loses

I was waiting on the Chuck Yeager P-51, Bell X-1, F-104 group from Matchbox. But no....
So now I'm torn between keeping them for old times sake or selling them off for newer planes. I had all but the WW1 birds, and have sold a few lately. But they are the planes that started this new hobby.

Re: Loses

I have waited a long time and was also hoping but now I am out of room. I am selling my Corsiars, Hellcat's, P-51's, Sabers, and P-40's in the marketplace(here) and now on e-bay as I am not getting much interest for such fantastic models that far surpass any Corgi Warbirds IMHO. Someday I will regret this decision but I have a son coming in a few weeks and his closet (where the Matchbox reside) must be emptied!

Re: Loses

If any of you guys have (or know of) a silver F-100, let me know, please. I know the Rutan one is on e-bay, but I have my sights set on the silver model, as all my MB jets are silver colored. One day I may have to settle for the camo one, but for now I'll keep waiting. Took me 2 years. but I was finally able to score the sivler F-104 when one went for sale - I'll just have to keep watching . . .

Re: Loses

Yeah my first die cast was the MB Mig 15 w/ the green cammo. Very cool and cheap. Connected w/ another member here for a silver F-100 and am still seeking the silver F-104. I like the models a lot, simple but nicely done.

Re: Loses

I'm still impressed with the MB WW2 series, they stack up very well against Corgi and Dragon IMO. Particularly the exhaust/gun stains, and the pilots. Certainly superior to Corgi's new Warbird series (except for the Corgi Fw190 - that bird is a real bargain!)

Re: Loses

Losing Matchbox and The Flying Mule I in 1 year- how can a diecaster deal with it? Easy, spend the money on the other companies and build a new Hangar! (I always wanted to be the first to post in a topic/thread.)

What do you mean by losing The Flying Mule I? Does Martin not own TFM anymore? If not, who does?

Kill em' all, let God sort em' out.
