Thumbs up Matchbox Spad13 and Fokker DR1

I recently was able to get these two new additions to my collection from ebay. These are my first 1:48 scale models and my first WWI biplanes. Have to say I am really impressed with the detail and quality. God I miss Matchbox as a maker of really good, inexpensive models! Yes the wings are plastic, but the engines have great detail, the pilots second to none, and the paint is spot-on. The Spad even has little holes molded into the side radiators and the DR1's engine spins with the propeller. I love the way the center shaft that goes through the propeller is a metal pin - looks very realistic. While hard to find, I'd recommend these if you can find them. My cost? $3.50 per plane unboxed! I did some "sprucing" up: added exhaust stains on the Spad and a foot step on the Dr1. Also added some of the wiring to add realism. Here's some pictures.

Looks good HT,
I like the job you did on the wiring.. I didn't remember my Matchboxs coming with that until I read you had added it..
