Re: Matchbox History/Checklist

Hey JP, I found the Aleutian Tigers P-40 (2 left) for $9.98 at my WinCo yesterday. And did you know that their magazines are discounted at the checkout counter, e.g. the $5.50 Fine Scale Modeler rang at $4.68 only. Anyway, just thought I throw that info here.

Re: Matchbox History/Checklist

No doubt y'all are tired of reading stuff like this by now, but since we have a list, it would be nice if we could get some savvy board member to photograph the airplanes...

Talking Re: Matchbox History/Checklist

Great post, very in depth and informative. Maybe some day the value for these little gems will increase.

Anways, you mention the Limited Release Platinum Edition Lockheed P-38J Lightning, "Scat II", Maj. Robin Olds, (several were made available on eBay).

Do you happen to know if they had a part number for this item? Just wondering!

Yup, I could have had that...............

Re: Matchbox History/Checklist

Couple of questions regarding the MB Aircraft:
a) The Canadian release of the FW-190A is "Red 13" Heinz Barrs Aircraft, correct? Box marked 91730 Asst.? what year was this released? if I'm reading Canuckles post correctly, it was 2003?
b) What year was the NAHF P40E Claire Chennault released? if I'm reading Canuckles post correctly, it was 2002?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Matchbox History/Checklist

Still quite a few of the Aleutian Tigers P-40 popping up on eBay, but that is about it.

Correct - it is Heinz Barr's personal mount. It was released in 2002. Date stamped at the bottom right wing.

b) What year was the NAHF P40E Claire Chennault released? if I'm reading Canuckles post correctly, it was 2002?

Yes that's correct.
