Unhappy Repair Parts for a P-40 ?

Looking to be pointed in the right direction, I have just purchased a Matchbox Collectible 2001 P-40 Warhawk,
my 5 year old son decided to take it for a test flight and crash landed it. I am in need for a new propellar for this
plane. Anyone know if this is somthing I can get ?

Re: Repair Parts for a P-40 ?

Very doubtful unless someone has a junker they'll part with, as Matchbox has discontinued this line.... If it's a clean break, careful re-attaching with superglue should do the trick. I have fixed a few sheared off props this way and no one would ever even be able to tell where the break line was.

Re: Repair Parts for a P-40 ?

Thanks for the feedback, I will go the super glue route for now. The other question I have is I currently have 2 P-40s MB planes
one has a serial number under the wing and the other plane has "Dinky" typed under the wing, is the Dinky plane later release (2004) ?
I'm kinda new at this collection, I started collecting these planes about 3 weeks ago, many of them i have purchased on Ebay
I have about 10 planes now. My original P-40 that has the broken prop is the only one that i purchased at a discount store back
in 2001. I was able to pick up a platium first series P-40 last week for $17.00 which i thought was a decient price.
The first time I saw these planes at Target about 6 years ago I new they would be a good item to pick up and collect.
The P-47s and Zero seem to be very hard to find and they are going for the upper 40s for price when you do find one.

The Flying Mule still has five Matchbox planes, including a Zero and P-47, in stock listed at about $30 each.

Re: Repair Parts for a P-40 ?

If you don't mind spending a little money and doing a little work, maybe you could buy a plastic 1/72 P-40 model kit and use the prop and spinner from that...
