Lane, that's it. Thanks. I have the Legends one and it just slipped my mind.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

The prices of MB planes on ebay is creeping up. I think people are still trying to get them instead of dumping them.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I have the first six original still in box, and in their shipping container. I will most likely end up selling these at some point, hopefully not waiting till they for some reason drop off to nothing. While they are great models, I just don't like the no gear down option and there's just too much out there that I can't keep it all, so unfortunatley they get the short end of the stick......

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I have the complete set of the WWII AC and the F-86s and Mig-15's. I am keeping them, unopened for now. A few I've wanted to display I have picked up duplicates. Heinz Bar's Fw-190 is still among my favorites of all the 190s on the shelf. These got me started (and my brother and my best friend as well) and I remember finding each one on the shelves of many now defunct stores. When a bigger display case comes about I may display them in their boxes as a back drop. My brother still claims the Olds P-38 should be his because he said he was going to check the store that I beat him to.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I have a few of mine still on display (Alleutian P-40, NASA F-104, Chinesse MiG-15, and the Rutan F-100) I'll keep mine on display until better versions come out if they come out and if that time comes I'll just Annex them to my desk at work.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

Thought I'd renew this thread a bit as the market has/is seeing some changes of late I think. I have seen a great increase in the number of MB for sale on Ebay lately and prices are low overall. The P-38 still commands a $40+ fee to get in the bidding but the others seem to be very reasonable and even low. Saw an F-86 Gabreski for $7 no box and Old Crow for under $10. These are both very nice pieces. Others in the mid teens. This corresponds with a great decrease in Corgi aftermarket prices, especially from the U.K. Some of the original and classic Spits, Hurris and Me-109s are available for about £20-£30 depending on the date and time of auction close, and that is not much different from their original MSRP.

Competition for $ and display space from HM, Witty, Gemini, etc... would be my best explanation but it still remarkable as I had nearly given up on some of these.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I think for a long time Matchbox had the models folks wanted. Now as other companies do these planes with options collectors grips are loosening. MB planes will once again gain value but I fear it will be a few years as the line becomes classic. MB P-51 are fantastic and I have kept nearly all of them. Yes good prices for models that are not cheap.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I had ten models, gave away nine of them to my buddy's four year old son. Kept the platinum P38 ' Mammas Boy.'

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

MB got me started down this crazy road, and I still have everyone I have purchased. I have been keeping an eye on the Bay also to pick up the ones that I missed, at a good price.
