Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I've only got two MB's: -

- The silver Mig 15 - I'll ditch that as fast as I can, when another manufacturer comes out with a better Mig (those rivets are terrible!!!)

- Vraciu (sp?) Hellcat, which I will keep. It's a nice model, and even though I will be purchasing the Hobby Master version when it's available, the MB version won't look out of place in my collection.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I've got twenty some Matchbox planes, and they will be near the last ones in my collection I'll get rid of if it ever gets that far.
While their deficiencies are obvious, they are still great. I love 'em.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

1) Yes

2) P-51 x2, P-38 x2, P-47 x3, F4U x2, F6F x1, FW190 x1, P-40 x1, F-100 x2, F-104 x2, F-86 x2, MiG-15 x2, SPAD x2, DR1 x2, A6M x1

3) All but 3 on display

4) These are some of my favorite models and were a real value at the $5-$14 I paid for them. There are several unique AC that no other manufacturer has released. From 3 feet away, they look as good as any other diecast model on the market.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I have the Rutan F-100, the NASA F-104, and the Chinese MiG-15. As of right now I'll keep them just simply because there is no replacement for them. The F-104 may get moved to my "Annex" at work

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I am keeping all of my Matchbox. The longer they go without any new models, the more valuable these become. Plus they are beautiful looking planes.

Those who say they'll keep 'em all (or whatever they have)....I'm with you ALL the way! I may get rid of a couple down the road but that's about it.

No reason to get rid of all my MB at this time because I feel very sentimental about them....aweeeee.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

1. Are you keeping them?
2. Which ones?
3. On display still or boxed away?
4. Why?

1. Yes.

2. Two Zeros, 2 109s', 2 Dr 1's, 3 Hellcats, 2 Sabres, 2 Fw 190A's, 2 Mig-15's (why oh why), the Aleutian P-40 (wish I had the Scott), 3 Thunderbolts (including Gabreski), 3 Mustangs, 1 Spad, and 3 Spitfires (you can see I'm a bit proud of them all )

3. All the older ones are boxed. All the more recent models that had the destructo-box are displayed, though I kept the cardboard portions of the containers (they make great party hats).

4. I collect 1/72 diecast airplanes, and MB made darn good 1/72 airplanes. I would have really liked a copy of the X-1. It's for sure no one else is going to do one.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

Have most of the offerings (sold off duplicates over the past year) and plan on keeping them as they can't be beat for the $$$$ IMHO
