Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I have a P 40, Corsair, and Hellcat, plus both Spads and a Triplane. See no reason to get rid of any of them, ESPECIALLY the Spads and Triplane.

And I give my thanks to those of you who have sold me the Luke Spad, and the 3 WW II aircraft. I am gratefull

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

1. Are you keeping them?
2. Which ones?
3. On display still or boxed away?
4. Why?

I have 14 Matchbox planes. These include the "Old Crow" and "Petie 2nd" Mustangs, two Spitfires, two 109s, Robin Old's P-38 and Gabby's P-47.

1. & 2. Yes I am definitely keeping them all as they are IMHO beautiful models - screw holes and all. For the money, you can't beat the quality and details
3. Mine are all boxed away in the original, never opened packaging. Only exception are two customized P-40s I've done.
4. Why? I think they'll gain in value in a few years, and I love the way they look. Why spend more money to buy a model that really isn't much better?

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

Me too I love my biplanes and triplanes as well as my meshershmit and old crow mustang.

I 'm thinking maybe of selling off my blue and white hellcat as well as my flying tuger plane with the 2 blue suns on the wing.

what do they call this plane again...

I love Polikarpov

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

Ditto on most of the previous posts!

I have most of them, plan on keeping most of them and still think they were the best bang for the diecast buck.

I have to agree with bsmith13, they are what started me with the 1/72 scale aircraft, 152 later. all of mine are on display.

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

Have quit a few Matchbox and I'll be keeping them, thank you. Like a lot of us here they are what got me started with the madness and I still like the look of them. Only have a few on display, little space at the moment. But when my Den/Office/Hide away gets completed out the will come, to sit along with the Corgi's, Dragon's, Wittey's and others and fit right in.

Hey Tri-motor use a Corgi Legends stand works great with the P-38's

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I collect Matchbox in general so of course I'll be keeping them, along with my Sky-Busters.

Just reading some of the threads on the MB planes and wondered how many of you still have your MB collection? With the flood of new aircraft from MH and Dragon and Witty etc...it's been hard for me to justify keeping them but so far I have. I have 14 or so and consider the Corsair and JR Hellcat to be among the finest. Both 109s and 190s are still on display as is the Gabreski T-bolt (still the only one in 1/72 in that great scheme). I'm keeping mine for now I guess. They were some of the 1st models I purchased and there is just something about the quaility/price ratio that makes me proud to have them on my shelf.

2. Which ones?
3. On display still or boxed away?
4. Why?

Re: Will MB be kept through the flood?

I have Gabby's P-47, the Rutan's F-100, and a few of the WWI biplanes. I love them, and don't plan on getting rid of them.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
