| Custom P-40E - Part 2 Another custom job. These Matchbox P-40s are great base models for customizing projects! Curtiss P-40E, white "14", MARY LUCILLE. 2/Lt. Joseph H. King, 7th FS, 49th FG, USAAF, Batchelor Field, Northern Territory, Australia. Joseph H. King was one of many American fighter pilots who help to defend Australia against Japanese air attacks in 1942. His Warhawk was named after his wife, Mary Lucille. His plane was painted in typical USSAF Olive Drab/Neutral Graycamouflage scheme. Red circles in white stars were overpainted.
