Custom P-40E - Part 2

Another custom job. These Matchbox P-40s are great base models for customizing projects!
Curtiss P-40E, white "14", MARY LUCILLE. 2/Lt. Joseph H. King, 7th FS, 49th FG, USAAF, Batchelor Field, Northern Territory, Australia. Joseph H. King was one of many American fighter pilots who help to defend Australia against Japanese air attacks in 1942. His Warhawk was named after his wife, Mary Lucille. His plane was painted in typical USSAF Olive Drab/Neutral Graycamouflage scheme. Red circles in white stars were overpainted.

Base model: Matchbox H3737 - Aleutian Tigher P-40E
Colors: Testors ModelMaster Olive Drab (FS 34087), Testors Dullcote Flat spray
Markings:Tally Ho Decals, Sheet #72-040 Curtiss Kittyhawk/Warhawk Part 2

Very nice job once again, HotTrap. I like the weathering you did on it.

Thanks meskary! Always great to hear from a fellow Connecticutite. Been to Groton lots of times - love the shore and being near the ocean.
