Starman's Ki-61 Army Type 3 Fighter HIEN model 1 #7980

It came in the mail today and it took me about 1/2 hour to put it together and fix it up a little
better...I love it...It's heavy too then most of my other fighters i have in 1:48.
I have no idea if this is the latest release by Marushin or not but i really love this paint scheme
with the red lightning bolt on the sides...Also it's all pad printed tampo too no decals....
I will work on the cockpit to make it a little better..It's pretty basic right now.
Now i'll have to fit my 1:48 Japanese pilot in there from a old plastic kit.
Enjoy the pictures.

Looks great. I think that I will add green squiggles and the aircraft's number as per that AeroMaster decal sheet I dug up. I'll post a picture of the results.

THANK YOU! Starman! Did you have/find any fit/finish issues to mention? I have been a little leery of Marushin after a rather weak Kato64 Oscar...had paint flaws esp w. striping, casting flash on the prop, one bum landing gear pivot, and a right horizontal stabilizer that never would fit (the only issue I couldn't accept/fix properly)... Mike

Great looking Tony! Shame the folks at Marushin have not expanded their line of aircraft.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Looks great!!! I can't wait til mine arrives..

Hey Ed, if you want a Tony with Squiggles, you can pick up 21st Century's version for $9.99 and save the Marushin's original scheme.

I had no issues at all putting it together...Everything fit perfect...Very tight fit too.
The paint on this is great...Better then i thought it be..

That Tony looks great! I must say not getting into 1/48 is becoming a chore. I now have a Spitfire, razorback Mustang and a Buffalo. I still aim to get the Fw190 too. I've been thinking of getting a Japanese fighter not so well represented in 1/72 like the Tony and Jack.

Thanks, Harry, but I'm leery about 21st Century's quality and I like the heft of Marushin's diecasts---even though they can be a pain to assemble. I'm still eying the 21st Century listings and may bite on their Tony if the reviews are decent.
