J-aircraft.com (my father's web site) has commissioned a new Betty bomber version from Marushin. This has been in the works for a long time and they finally gathered enough support for the revival of this highly sought after diecast 1/48 scale model. This is a very limited production run of only 500 that will include a 1/48 scale Baka bomb which can be displayed (with a special in flight display stand) included. The price will be as heavy as the bomber though - $400.00.

You make the one that had old whats his face in when the P-38s shot him down and then maybe. Otherwise, its just another Japanese plane. A Mosquito would be better.

As an entry point for someone looking to start a Japanese collection, this bomber couldn't be a better start. A bit pricey, perhaps, but certainly a model to which all others will be judged. I'm curious to see the pre-pro photos, myself.
