Re: New Release Reported to Occur in April

You will not be dissapointed when you finally pick one up. I have 2.5 of their models (Val, Oscar and Baka,,, the .5 model). and think they are great looking models.

Your Val and Oscar are classics, reminds me of the time when I discovered Otaki in 1/48 after going up and down the Monogram line for years. I'd never seen these planes before. And Nichimo's Sonia, Kate and Jake, too. And Testor's 1/48 Val.

So I am a diecast collector now, I have no interest in plastic models anymore, and I'm building my collection, really based on what my model collection was like "in the day". But with nothing Japanese it's not as interesting. I always liked the planes of 4 nations, US, British, German, and Japanese. I enjoyed each for their unique look and features. If the new Tony sold out in 2 weeks, can't they open another edition?

I remember the Otaki kits. Had the Otaki Ki 100 and the N1K Shiden (George). Both were really nice kits for the time. Currently I have a Otaki Willow and Nichimo Oscar & Spruce sitting on the shelf waiting to get put together.

Re: New Release Reported to Occur in April

And the wait continues for my first 1/48 scale Japanese diecast. As I've refused Franklin Mint's iffy Zero offerings, and no one else will produce these planes, I'll just have to wait and save my $$$ for a cool Marushin livery (of which this Tony is/was). Farg.

Ara.. I have an extra Marushin Zero A6M2 (new-unassembled) that I would be willing to part with for a reasonable price.. PM me if interested..

Ara...there is no better diecast Zero than a Marushin Zero! It is excellent if you can live with no cockpit detail.

Re: New Release Reported to Occur in April

Here is a pic of the Tony on HLJ's website.. And BTW, these are already SOLD OUT...

Hmmm. I might be tempted to buy a decal sheet and redo this model with green blotches.

Not sure but this may be another shot of the new Marushin Tony.

Re: New Release Reported to Occur in April

Found one more, looks like same photo as above but almost looks like it was some how doctored.
