| Silver Tony is excellent! I received my silver Marushin "Tony" (# 11) and assembled it today. WOW! This is one nice looking model. Of the three Marushin models I own (silver Kate, green Raiden, and now the Tony), this is THE best. If it's true that the aircraft models are a "pet project" of Marushin's owner, then the Tony must hold a special place in the old guy's heart ![]() The model shows off the trim lines of the JAAF Tony nicely. It also has a lot of parts for assembly which, with one exception, went together easily. I have no buyers remorse with this model, none at all. High Points 1. Nice paint scheme on the model (with the exception of the canopy). 2. Small details that look great (clear landing light on the wing, wheel strut details, oil cooler, radiator) Low Points 1. The wheels strut details (sorry I don't know what the darn things are actually called) didn't quite fit the holes in the strut where they needed to be glued. Small parts which weren't easy to handle and place - for me at least. 2. Canopy bracing was painted rather sloppily. 3. Horizontal stabilizers were a loose fit and needed gluing. 4. Glue needed to be applied to almost all parts if you didn't want them to fall free. This is one heck of a nice model and I would recommend adding it to your collection if a nice 1:48 Japanese fighter is something that interests you. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Silver Tony is excellent!
I agree and had pretty much the same issues (except the canopy) with mine.. But it does build into a nice looking plane and a worthy addition to any Japanese collection.. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Silver Tony is excellent! Congrats on your Tony Black 6, the more I study this a/c the more I like it. Too bad about the canopy; it's the toughest part of making a model... | |||||||||||||

| Re: Silver Tony is excellent! Thanks for the review, B6. Despite the issues with your Hien 'Tony' it is still one good looking Japanese warbird to add in the collection. I'm just waiting for mine to arrive any day now. | |||||||||||||
