Re: The Elusive Marushin G4M "Betty"

Hi Guys, I know that I may be a new member here but I just wanted to say that I do have a Marushin Betty Bomber.

I think that I must have gotten one of the last ones off of Ebay directly from Marushin just after they sold out.

How is this bird in person? Doesn't really look like it has alot of fine detail for such a big bird.

No I suppoe such a large plane could have more detail but it's still an awesome piece of Heavy Metal to own and I very happy with it.

If someone could do it better then it's will be great for those who didn't get this one and I would buy that one too!!

Re: The Elusive Marushin G4M "Betty"

Great pictures, Globemaster! I suppose I got one of the last ones too, but mine is the green one. I was always torn between the two, and seeing your pictures brings that all back - this is an excellent scheme for the Betty.

I do wonder, though: did yours go to together well? I never really assembled mine yet (space, space), but the couple of dry runs I tried did reveal that the plastic nosecone was some way off. Yours seems to fit very well, so I was wondering whether you've had to trim it a bit.

And of course your pictures beg the question of whether you have any more Marushin's in your collection! I'm still waiting for someone to post some "in the metal" pictures of the preassembled colletion - the ram raider Frank, the yellow-striped Zero, and so forth. You don't happen to have one of those, do you?

MigAlley, I would have like to have gotten the green one even better but beggars can't be choosers which was me at the time. Hold out for the green one and I would have been without.

Yes, my nose went on nicely but the cockpit window assembly could have been a tighter fit. A little more precision on this model would have been nice but this one was probably made before what we are used to now.

I have two more Marushin models and if it's OK with the forum I will post them here otherwise I could more them later.

Nice -- how heavy is that Betty? Always been curious as the fighters are so dense.

Re: The Elusive Marushin G4M "Betty"

Here the rest of the pictures, having a bit of trouble posting them.

The Betty is pretty darn heavy!! Two hands for me.

Not quite as dense as there the fuselage is quite a bit more hollow that the smaller ones.

Great looking line up of Marushin models. I have the Val and think it is a pretty good looking model. The Betty is quite the show piece though.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Hey Globemaster, you assembled the cowlings on the wrong sides! The anti-glare black areas should be inboard not outboard.
