A6M5 "Special" paint scheme..

I received this Zero the other day and I have to say that if you are thinking about getting up a Zero, this is one to get.. I was extremely surprised at how fast and easily this one went together compared to some of the other Marushins I have assembled lately.. It was a very clean build with only a few small dabs of elmers to keep the pitot tube/cannons in place..

I have been looking at this one on Aiken's for awhile now. Like the looks and might have to pick one up. Thanks for the pictures of plane.

One more question. Retractable landing gear or interchangeable?

The gear on this Zero don't retract like the earlier variants, the gear is like the other Marushins with an "up" and "down" option..

I like the look of this model. I wonder if they have a version of A6M5 with a white surround on the wing insignia.

I think Marushin only put out two A6M5s with the one seen above and this one.

I have brought quit a few of the Marushin planes but have not picked up any of the Zero's. How would you compare them to the Franklin Mint Zero's?

To me, Marushins Zeros are superior to FMs, with the only real drawback being you have to assemble the Marushin planes, and the FM you don't.. I also think the overall look of Marushins Zero is more correct and more appealing even without the cockpit detail which Marushin is missing..
I would think marushin put more into their molds (accuracy wise) because they are a Japanese company and they specialize in Japanese A/C..
