green Frank and green Tony

Hobby Japan now has the green Frank and green Tony back on their site. Unfortunately (for me) I want the silver Frank.

I did that a while ago and this is the response I received:

"Since the distribution of Marushin planes are few in Japan, we
occasionally get Marushin planes and all item we have at the moment are
the ones listed at ebay.

We do not know when Marushin can supply our "sold out" items but we will
be listing it at ebay whenever we get new items."

I am happy that they responded but really did not clarify anything.

Re: green Frank and green Tony

If you really, really, truely, truely want the silver model, Aikens has them available.

Yeah I've got that one too -- that simply means they may get more, they may not, stay tuned. If they had more to relist you would have received a simple "We've relisted that item, thanks" (They relisted a Zero I wanted after I emailed them and I bought it immediately, for example.)

This whole Marushin thing is a bit mysterious -- even when you go to HJ's main site it's a bit of a crystal ball scene... bizarre. You'd think they could get clear answers from the manufacturer.

ON a funny side note, I emailed Marushin directly asking if they had any Bettys for sale still (I can't read Japanese but it looks like they are listed as available on the Marushin site)... they told me they were available to buy from their main U.S. distributer (Aiken's).. Of course, they've been sold out in the U.S. for well over a year now, if not two...

Sure the language barrier doesn't help, but come-on folks....

Stranger still, whether or not the model is listed as discontined versus "sold out" on HJ's main site (or marushin's for that matter) has little bearing on what actually shows up on ebay, such as the green Tony, which is listed as "discontinued" (which means on the HJ site you are SOL, basically).

Confusing to say the least, but that's all part of the charm... right.
