Couple more of the George and the stand... (note: the pilot figure is an optional part... $6 each... standing pilot figures are also available, as is a set of mechanic figures...)

Re: I'd kill for some good Marushin pics.

I didn't have the guts to let the George sit in (more on than in) that stand. I could just picture someone bumping the cabinet and having that 80 pound gorilla falling on another model. The Tony fits perfectly. I knew that I should not have let on that I wanted (no, needed) that silver Frank. Now, I have to compete with that "r b" Harry who helped (along with you Pappy) getting me addicted to these Marushins and 1:48 in general. I am waiting now for the Sugita Zero to show up and really like the stand but I don't know if I really want to spring for another at the price. Pappy, did you get the pilots from Aikens?

Only kidding, Harry.

Its okay Bill, and to be honest, the last time that Silver Frank came up, I REALLY had to fight the urge to get it.. It had absolutely nothing to do with your statement (although I did suggest the green one)..

Re: I'd kill for some good Marushin pics.

With the rubber bits on the stand arms you'd really have to bump it hard to make the model fall, but it would wreak havoc with anything under it which is why mine is at least on the bottom shelf in my cabinet... (If the plane does not rest in the notches -- as with the George -- you do have to be careful to get the center of gravity right! When you place it right the weight of the model, combined with the rubber arms, keeps it pretty darn steady.)

And yes, I did get the pilots at AA... (and it looks like someone snagged that Frank... )

Re: I'd kill for some good Marushin pics.

Yea, got one and it is on the way.

You suggested the green and Pappy the silver. I figured I had enough green Japs (Sugita on the way, Raiden, George and Rufe).

The George that I have (15 inside the meatball) was flown by Lt Naoshi Kanno who supposedly had 48 kills.

The only problem that I have had with assembly is with the canopies. I just can't seem to get them to fit just right. Always seem to leave a gap somewhere but no big deal, still look super.

Had to make sure you knew I was kidding, Harry, have some thin skins here recently when attempted wit and sarcasm are not fully understood.

I agree on the canopy comment -- I assume the only way to really fix this is with some sort of glue or tack, which would fill the tiny gaps and keep the canopies sealed tightly to the fuselage. But I don't want to go that route as I'll be needing to take 'em apart soon and pack 'em again for a move.
