If we're making Marushin requests I think I'll start here.

Somehow I doubt that a Japanese diecast manufacturer will want to this version of the "Betty". They still have issues rationalizing the causes and outcome of their role in WWII.

Yeah, not quite my favorite scheme either, but definitely unusual..

Agreed. It surprised me that a noted JNAF/JAAF researcher (David Aiken if I'm not misspelling his name) posted on Hyperscale this year that he has never seen any photographic evidence that the crosses were green. There are documents, directives, and artistic renderings, but as of earlier this year he had yet to see a color photograph.

Personally, I enjoy my favorite aircraft "in their prime", i.e. not run down, defeated, excessively worn, damaged etc. So for the Betty, which was outdated by late 1943, the Guadalcanal era (August '42 - February '43) represents my preference.

The Betty in diecast would be a great own. It's unique, historic, and has a cool look to it.

Re: Marushin requests

We still need a Tojo to complete the single engine Japanese fighter basic collection of WW2. I hope they gear up production again! Their P-51D is arguably the best one in 1/48 diecast and I think they owe us an F4U-1A Corsair for an adversary to the Japanese fighters. I won't hold my breath.

Re: Marushin requests

I have noticed that Marushin is fairly stagnate as far as putting out new planes. I would really like to see them come out with Mitsubishi A5M4 Claude or the Nakajima KI.27 Nate. If they come out with another twin engine the Kawasaki KI.45 Nick would be good looking choice. I only have thier late model Val and it is a good looking model.

Re: Marushin requests

An A5M Claude would really open up a lot of eyes in regards to the colorful pre-war schemes they wore. I have the Mushroom Publications book (in English) and am astounded by the 1939ish-era paint jobs and markings of the JNAF. Absolutely gorgeous.

This would be my ultimate must have scheme for the Kawasaki Hien "Tony" warbird!

Re: Marushin requests

I'm with ya FlyX, that's a great version. What's cool about the Tony is that it always looked good, no matter the version, paint scheme, or angle.

I have questions about the tail markings. The "stars", which appear yellow, have also been depicted (in color profiles) as white.
