Re: My first Marushin..

Nice looking Bird; you made a wise investment. Diecast is doing much better than the Stock Market

I don't think anyone here is buying for "investment potential" but for the reason that they are nice pieces of diecast and some are subjects you won't find anywhere else. Plus, they are getting harder to find..

Right, but some have pretty good "growth potential". I sold some of my models for a multitude of what I paid for them.

But my primary goal is collecting just for the sheer joy of it...

BTW, this thread made me buy "My first Marushin". I sure hope it will arrive soon, I am very much looking forward to comparing the quality to the rest of my Airforce.

Cheers,
AA

I think you'll be happy with your purchase, and I have to admit that with Pappy saying I'm such a bad influence, but his piccies on his website is what put the bug in me to go ahead and buy some..
I don't know what kind of resale Marushin has since I never see them in an auction on Ebay, but I don't think you'll lose any money in the future if you decide to resell them later..

Re: My first Marushin..

Nice pics Bill.. What amazes me is how big the Raiden is when I always though it was a small plane about the size of a Wildcat or Buffalo..

Yeah, I've seen some Marushins "in the flesh" before. They are very nice! What hold me back was the relatively high price and the expensive shipping. Hehe, I can feel your pain there! Same problem here.
Well, I actually got my first Marushin (A6M3 Japanese Zero Fighter Type 22 261th Air Combat Regiment (Tora-113) ) from ebay. I also made a pretty good deal on it. And yes, it was the only one I've seen on ebay except the ones from the guy in Japan. Rest assured, I won't loose any money on this one.

Re: My first Marushin..

Anyone recall the Guadalcanal-era shot of several attacking Betty's flying very low over the ocean, one looks like it's maybe 7 feet (or closer!) from the sea?

That's flying.
