Re: Love them New Releases 1st two.

Well i got my shipping confirmation tonight for my TBM Avenger.
Hope it looks good after all i plan to some wheathering to it a little to make it look a little better.
I would like to get the La-7 but there seems to be a few things others don't like about it.
I need to see one in person rather then order it.

Re: Love them New Releases 1st two.

I like my la-7. It's not IXO's best, but it's not bad. The outline and shape is pretty good. At 20 to 22 bucks it's well worth it.....and when is anyone else going to make one?

As far as the Avenger goes.....I'm waiting on Hobby Master's

Question Re: Love them New Releases 1st two.

Great hearing about the new releases but where are your pictures so that we can see what they look like? Maybe that way the comments can be more insightful?

PappyB,
The Blue 27 picture you posted just took my breath away. Whose plane was that and what is their story?

Yeah, great scheme! But I don't know the history, grabbed it off:

This is Ivan Kozhedub's La-7. Kozhedub was the highest scoring WWII Allied ace. If this scheme is legit, it must be some post-war (note three Hero of the Soviet Union insignias) "promotional" one since Kozhedub's last wartime scheme looked like this:

Re: Love them New Releases 1st two.

hi flaps, when you have issues with everyone,(4models) picky would appear - polite- almost like-finicky -fussy etc. etc. The bottom line is. I have many choices before me. I choose not to buy Ixo. I spend many dollars per year on models. I will elect in future...to spend them wisely. The issue with the LA-7 is, as I previously explained. It's in 'flying mode' owing to issues with the landing gear. Quality is not "job one"at Ixo. Swoop

That's why I stay away from IXO as well. Intriguing subject matter, but the assemble quality AND the quality of materials used in building these models are positively on the "cheap" side of things.
