H8K Emily 1/44 IXO Review

Just added a new review and it's the flying boat emily.I hope that the photos I took, can help you out, if you're thinking of purchasing it.
I'm very happy with this one, no matter the plastic and the lack of detail...very interesting model

I agree with you, Max. The Emily is probably the best of the new Altaya/IXO 1:144th scale line. My only real complaints were the gaps between the wings and tail planes and the fuselage, which I fixed with some putty. Here's a picture of my model with added weathering and some other improvements;

That one looks like it should....Good job...
Too bad it's more plastic then metal as Max stated in his review.

Re: H8K Emily 1/44 IXO Review

Really nice modification you got there Epapazian...wish mine was like that too! weathering it's always a proper addition to Japanese planes...
I'm tempted actually to at least fill up those ugly gaps

The H6K Mavis is listed as number 30...interested in what it will look like....it's a long waaaay before we can see both flying boats together

Too bad it's more plastic then metal as Max stated in his review.

Yes, in fact when I first received the model, I thought "that plastic stand is too small and won't hold properly"...but once I had the model in my hand, I felt almost like I was holding a built kit and yes....I had to glue the wings on the FW200 Condor...cuz they fell as soon as I opened the box!!

Thanks Gambit! Yes I got the plane through Ebay, from Lisbon, Portugal.They're selling the same collection but the issue numbers seem to be different.
Trust me, I'm sure you'll be pleased with it, once it arrives in October

I thought the site looked very good and the picture too.
This looks lika a great models. I was wondering however if the wheels could be easily removed? I know they are permenantly attached but would it be a very invasive procedure to remove?

I love Polikarpov

I took mine off without much trouble. You might lose a bit of paint doing it so have some dark green handy.
